RAKwireless: Update on Components Lead Time

During these past months, we noticed that components lead time increased significantly, and with some critical components lead time now extended to 26 weeks. Moreover, the AKM fire also caused all the oscillator manufacturing to stop to receive the new order. We had already received many alert emails from our supplier calling our attention to this situation change.

As device maker OEM’s schedule manufacturing outside of this 8-12 week window, in order to avoid parts shortages and potential line downs we have asked partner suppliers to provide us with:

1. The lead time on orders
2. The necessity of a forecast no less than 30 weeks out.

We politely request that this be provided monthly, as we anticipate some allocation situations where there may be customers who provided forecasts and orders based on a required schedule and will need to be served first.
